GAGE FISHERING, LEGISLATIVE CHAIR
On February 6, 2025, the Roofing Contractors Association of Washington (RCAW) brought the roofing industry’s voice straight to Olympia for its inaugural Olympia Hill Day. From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, members and supporters gathered at the Washington State Capitol to engage directly with lawmakers and advocate for policies impacting their businesses and the roofing profession across Washington State.
A Day of Purpose and Advocacy
Olympia Hill Day offered a critical platform for roofing professionals to express their concerns and priorities to state legislators. Participants met with key decision-makers to discuss regulations, codes, and policies that directly influence how roofing work is done statewide. This event reinforced RCAW’s dedication to building strong ties with government and giving contractors and associates a seat at the table during legislative discussions.
A key message of the day was captured in RCAW’s social media call to action: “The Power of YOUR Voice! … Join RCAW at Olympia Hill Day 2025 … where your voice will shape the future of roofing in Washington.” That rallying cry helped embolden attendees to step into conversations that matter. Following the event, RCAW shared appreciation, acknowledging that participants’ efforts ensured that “your voices were heard” by legislators.
