Basic Shelter Project 2022

RCAW’S BASIC SHELTER PROJECT IS COMPLETED WITH HELP FROM ROOFING PROFESSIONALS

August 17, 2022, the Roofing Contractors Association of Washington (RCAW)’s Basic Shelter Project 2022 joined forces with RCAW members, Legends Roofing, GAF, Achtens Quality Roofing, All Ply Roofing, LLC, Madsen Roofing, Esary Roofing & Siding, Guardian Roofing, Axis Roof & Gutter, Minihan & Sons, LLC and Convoy Supply, Inc., to repair the damaged roof and chimney of the Lopez family in Federal Way. Working together each company listed above provided all the scheduling, preparing, and triple checking of items needed for this project.

“All the roofing contractors who donated their time, money and labor deserve tremendous kudos for their generosity to help the Lopez family, and community. Seeing the Legends crew all safely working together as a team on such a nice day was remarkable. Also, watching Mr. Lopez’s face light up when his daughter told him that all the hard work was free, made me understand even more, why we do kind things for others. He smiled very big and thanked everyone multiple times for their graciousness and kindness.,” said Amanda Fields, Executive Director Alfredo and Bris Lopez did not tell their father that the work being done on the house was free, until yesterday. Once Mr. Lopez came home from work and saw the Legends crew finishing up his roof, his daughter then gave him the great news. He was delighted, overjoyed, and thanked everyone there. The Lopez family purchased their home a year ago, not aware of the damage that their roof and chimney were in.

Alfredo and Bris, the two children of the homeowners, were very concerned about how their aging parents were going to fix and pay for the repairs so they reached out to RCAW’s Basic Shelter program for help. RCAW immediately did a call for help to their membership and again, Legends Roofing, GAF, Achten’s Quality Roofing, All Ply Roofing, LLC, Madsen Roofing, Esary Roofing & Siding, Guardian Roofing, Axis Roof & Gutter, Minihan & Sons, LLC and Convoy Supply, Inc. all generously agreed to support the family. Finally, their house is now a comfortable, safe home for their family.
