As we reach the over halfway point of the year, I want to take a moment to reflect on our progress as an industry—and as an association. It’s been a year full of effort, adaptation, and persistence. And while we may not have accomplished every goal we set at the start of the year, I want to encourage you with this simple truth: there’s still time.
Roofing contractors are some of the most resilient professionals in the trades. Day in and day out, you manage crews, train new workers, balance safety and efficiency, and hold the line on quality standards. This year has brought with it a new layer of complexity in the form of tariffs on imported materials and components that many of us rely on daily.
We hear your concerns loud and clear. Tariffs may not be something we control individually, but as a unified association, we are engaging with policymakers and industry coalitions to ensure your voice is represented. Our goal is to advocate for trade policies that support a stable and sustainable roofing supply chain—without creating unnecessary hurdles for contractors in the field.
At the start of the year, we outlined clear priorities: expanding access to workforce training, supporting licensing and certification efforts, growing industry awareness, and building stronger connections among roofing professionals. We’ve made meaningful progress in several areas, including more robust training partnerships and new regional networking initiatives. Others are still developing—and that’s okay. Progress is a process.
Now, with nine months behind us, this is the perfect time to refocus and recharge. What goals did you set for your business or your team this year? What’s working—and what needs to shift? Whether you’re pursuing operational efficiency, team growth, community engagement, or something bigger, you’re not alone. The Roofing Contractors Association of Washington exists to support, connect, and champion every member—regardless of company size or specialty.
We remain committed to advancing the initiatives that matter most to our members, and I look forward to connecting with many of you at the Winter Gala & Auction on December 6, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the Seattle Marriott Bellevue.
