RCAW’s recent series of events this Spring and Summer—encompassing the RCAW PNW Regional Trade Show, Sporting Clays Competition, Golf Tournament, and Salmon Derby—proved to be a resounding success. Each event not only surpassed expectations but also set new benchmarks for what can be achieved through industry involvement, skill, and sportsmanship. 2024 PNW Pacific NW Regional Trade Show: Roofing Hub of Innovation & Networking
The 2024 PNW Pacific NW Regional Trade Show, held on March 1, 2024, at the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn was a vibrant showcase of roofing industry excellence. Over 40 exhibitors presented cutting-edge products and services, attracting a diverse crowd of professionals eager to explore new trends and make valuable connections. RCAW produced educational opportunities that are beneficial to growing and securing your company. The brave attendees also able to showcase their skills during the 1st RCAW Fastest Shingles Competition, sponsored by GAF, where First Place was awarded with $500, Second Place $250 and Third Place $100. Attendees complimented the event for its well-organized layout and the quality of presentations, which spanned from emerging technologies to sustainable practices. The feedback was positive, with many noting that the Trade Show provided a unique platform for fostering business relationships and discovering innovative solutions. 2024 Annual Sporting Clays Competition: Precision and Performance
Our 2024 RCAW Sporting Clays Competition on April 12, 2024, at the Tacoma Sportsmen’s Club was a testament to precision and skill. This event drew competitive participants from across the roofing industry, all eager to test their marksmanship in a series of challenging clays. Prior to the start of the sporting clays competition, all participants took part in a safety meeting to review the necessary safety guidelines and ensure a secure environment for the event. With a range of targets and varying levels of difficulty, the competition showcased the participants’ remarkable focus and technique. Wayne’s Roofing emerged as the top shooter team, demonstrating exceptional prowess. Followed by Hope Roofing & Construction bagging the Runner Up, and State Roofing as the Third Place. Thank you to ClenzO2 for being our Main Event Sponsor. The event was lauded for its well-crafted courses and the camaraderie among competitors, making it a memorable experience for all involved. We hope to see you next year on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Tacoma Sportsmen’s Club.
Golf Tournament: A Day of Competition and Camaraderie
Summer is her with our fun and exciting 2024 RCAW Golf Tournament on June 14, 2024, at the Auburn Golf Course. Congratulations to our 2024 Winners: Putting Contest: Alec Gumpfer, Parker, Smith & Feek, Long Drive: Tyel Mullendore, Shield of Armor Safety & Chel Minor, Legends Roofing, Closest to the Pin: JR Ramirez & Beth Hauck, Axis Roof & Gutter, and 1st Place: Team Parker, Smith & Feek; 2nd Place: Team Shield of Armor Safety and 3rd Place: Team Convoy Supply & KJR Roofing.
Everyone had a fun day; it was a day of professional camaraderie. No one fell out of any golf carts or ran into any trees this year, so that is what call a win. We ended the afternoon with a delicious meal, raffles and awards. RCAW gave away over $1,000 in the 50/50 Raffle, as well as thousands of dollars in various other raffle items, including golf clubs, hundreds of dollars in gift cards, backpacks, plus so much more.

RCAW included the 50/50 Raffle giving away over $1,000, plus the Main and Major Raffle Prizes, again, THANK YOU to Polyglass. Roofers enjoyed a day of challenging play, networking and winning thousands of dollars in raffle prizes. After a day filled with enthusiasm and camaraderie, the event ended with a scrumptious dinner where everyone got the chance to talk casually about the tournament, followed by the awarding ceremony. The tournament not only celebrated individual achievements but also strengthened the excitement for the 2025 RCAW Golf Tournament on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Auburn Golf Course. 10th Annual Salmon Derby Competition: A Thrilling Fishing Extravaganza
Rounding out our summer was the reel deal, our 10th Annual Salmon Derby Competition, held on July 26, 2024, at the Point Defiance Marina in Tacoma starting at Dawn and lasting until final weigh-in at 2pm. RCAW was lucky to have Starvin Marvin, LLC serving a variety of amazingly fresh hotdogs and sides to all RCAW participants and board walkers. Guests sat and ate while jamming to the Billy Shew Band live on the dock. The RCAW booth also engaged with and provided roofing referrals to people walking on the dock that were enthralled we were hosting this amazing event.
Fishing enthusiasts of all levels assembled into the waters hoping to reel in the catch of the day. Congratulations to the 2024 RCAW Salmon Derby Winners: First Place ($1,000), Josh Jenkins (15.82 lbs.) Second Place ($750), Jean Paul Seward (13.22 lbs.) and Third Place ($500): Jack Wheeler (12.96 lbs.), All Fish Raffle: Jeff Reich, Best Photo ($100): Todd Grey. After the awards we went directly to the thousand dollars in raffle items, including our Major Raffle Item, a kayak, won by Ryker Woslager, Integrity PNW, plus a range of featured items, you would absolutely want to have. These raffle prizes ensure excitement from start to finish. Roofing professionals, and spectators alike enjoyed a day of outdoor adventure and friendly competition. The 1st ever RCAW Polar Plunge was executed down the beach and included RCAW Board Members: Allison Woslager, Matt Wallace, Nick Krumweide, Donovan Gladstone & Amanda Fields and many more participants. The Salmon Derby once again proved to be a cornerstone event for roofing fishing supporters. SAVE THE DATE for the annual RCAW Salmon Derby on August 1, 2025 at the Point Defiance Marina, Tacoma.
